Valley of Fire, Nevada

A short 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas is a park called the Valley of Fire; when you arrive you understand the name! The rock formations are sandstone and limestone and who knows what else, the colors are phenomenal; they are subtle and bold at the same time.
I always shoot RAW and always bracket by 2 stops. This allows me options when I get all the images downloaded to LR. I can adjust accordingly or HDR them in FEx Pro 2 software or Photomatrix (each software package has it’s own feel).

Some darkening of he sky, otherwise this image is as shot. You can catch a glimpse of snow covered mountaintops off in the distance.
